Initial Consultation

At Luce Orthodontics we know your time is valuable so we collect all of the pertinent information we need to make a proper diagnosis and treatment plan at our initial consultation. Whether you are interested in orthodontic treatment for yourself or your child a thorough evaluation always precedes a treatment recommendation.

At your first visit, you will be introduced to our team and be asked to fill out a few forms to provide us with a complete medical and dental history. During the consultation a thorough, clinical examination will be performed. We will take a series of photos, diagnostic radiographs, and we will perform a 3D image scan of your teeth. These comprehensive records provide detailed information on the growth and development of the teeth, the jaws, and the face. They also reveal if any teeth are impacted or missing, if there are any extra teeth, the status of root development, and if any unusual anatomy or other abnormalities exist. The information gathered from the medical and dental histories, the clinical examination, and the orthodontic records allow an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment plan to be formulated.

By the end of the initial consultation we will have discussed the diagnosis and the proposed treatment plan including any issues concerning function, jaw development, or alignment of the teeth. We will indicate if any orthodontic treatment is needed, when to begin, and what types of appliances might be most suitable to achieve the best result. We will provide an estimated timetable for the length of treatment, the associated fees and any other information pertinent to your specific case.
